Yeah agreed TMH, just listening to the latest on COVID in prisons, a podcast from last month focuses on 1 prisoner released who tells The Guardian what prison has been like for him amidst Coronovirus regime precautions https://www.theguardian.com/news/audio/ ... ns-podcast
press the play button to listen to the podcast , its a pretty good 25 minutes
  • TMH90Sat Jun 20, 2020 8:29 pm
The GF case is tragic. Should never have happened. As for Covid- I really don’t know, due to the level of cover up and misinformation throughout the pandemic it may be some time before we ever see the true picture (if ever)
  • falkorSat Jun 20, 2020 8:20 pm
Ok any thoughts on Covid 19 then? we havent heard much lately about COVID in prisons which must be good
  • TMH90Sat Jun 20, 2020 8:18 pm
    I’ll sit this one out
  • falkorSat Jun 20, 2020 8:15 pm
As an aside, any thoughts on the George Floyd case?
  • TMH90Sat Jun 20, 2020 8:11 pm
I imagine it will depend on each prisons LSS

no idea I've not spoken to anyone from there but it's pretty violent there so hoping some protection would be given out. If I pass the virtual interview I will as for a tour o I can see what it's like there

    Taff would know that
  • Jambogmail1Sat Jun 20, 2020 8:03 pm
£8 well spent, do you have to wear stab vests and cameras now
  • JCOX4Sat Jun 20, 2020 8:02 pm
A lot harder in real life than the youtube men make it look!
  • TMH90Sat Jun 20, 2020 8:02 pm
I don’t know anything about relocation, sorry. Kit wise, you’ll be provided with everything, although you may need to purchase your own utility belt (only around £8 for a viper belt with no pouches).
  • falkorSat Jun 20, 2020 8:01 pm
JCOX welcome! what happened to the flooring? :slby:
  • Jambogmail1Sat Jun 20, 2020 8:01 pm

  • Jambogmail1Sat Jun 20, 2020 7:59 pm
I stupidly quit my job in December so hopei I have passed the virtual interview so I know to concentrate on fitness and my other tests
  • Jambogmail1Sat Jun 20, 2020 7:58 pm
I wish I knew what to ask, do the prisons do relocation packages? Also what kind of kit do you have to wear I've heard all different things
  • TMH90Sat Jun 20, 2020 7:58 pm
I waited 13 months from Rad to poelt on my first attempt so I know it may take a while. I’m in a good position at the moment so not fazed by waiting it out. It takes as long as it takes
  • falkorSat Jun 20, 2020 7:57 pm
Jambo, Taff any questions for TMH? officer like questions? :slhe:
  • Jambogmail1Sat Jun 20, 2020 7:56 pm
Good luck getting back in, sounds like you will soon as a position comes available
  • falkorSat Jun 20, 2020 7:55 pm
Hehe you will find it a breeze TMH, it'll be like a holiday for you, no wonder you're looking forward to it ! :sltgn:

I’m currently on the merit list for my old establishment and 3 other local prisons. I contacted my old jail when I decided I wanted to go back and was advised that I’d need to go through the whole process again which is fair enough. I’ve been on the merit list a little over 6 months now
  • falkorSat Jun 20, 2020 7:51 pm
TMH what stage are you at lately?

In the time I’ve been away, I’ve reflected on where I could have done things differently to prevent everything getting on top off me. It’s a big change for anyone, stepping on the landings as the newbie but I’ll certainly have a different approach if I’m fortunate enough to get an offer. 🤞🏻
TMH you are a fantastic asset on here, not sure we have anybody else with your amount of experience!! :slbg:

Yea glad I got the interview out the way and no straight no on emails so that's a good sign. I won't mention on Job as I had shit time lost my house etc to a ex so was a mess but it was only a few months

I think the pertinent section here is "many years ago" and the fact that you got interviewed is a good sign
  • falkorSat Jun 20, 2020 7:38 pm
What happened in that 2 years? :slby:
  • TMH90Sat Jun 20, 2020 7:38 pm
Yes, I was doing poelt this time 2 years back
